Will Fish nears Hibs transfer as Man United rubber stamp return while Lee Johnson ramps up striker search

Hibs are closing in on a deal to bring Will Fish back.

The Easter Road club have agreed a deal with Manchester United which will see the 20-year-old defender return to the Scottish Premiership next season. It is a major boost for boss Lee Johnson because he was one of his top summer targets. Last season was Fish’s second senior loan and United were pleased with the progress Fish made in Edinburgh.

He also has the added advantage of having Europa Conference League football with Hibs next season. Fish had also been on the radar of Aberdeen but they had other central defensive options ahead of him. Hibs are now prioritising a striker as they look for a replacement for Kevin Nisbet, who recently made the move to Millwall.
