What do you make of the Scottish Cup final kick off time?
ANDY NEWPORT: We simply should not be forced into dancing to England’s tune just because the FA Cup final has been shunted to an earlier kick-off. Neither club are happy about this and, as per, the fans are always the last to be considered. It’s the wrong move.
CRAIG SWAN: We should be used to this by now. Football sold its soul to the TV buck a long time ago. Situations like this are the consequence.
FRASER WILSON: Horrible. It devalues the occasion for me. I understand the dilemma facing the organisers and a lunchtime kick off would have been seriously unfair on the Inverness supporters. Unfortunately TV dictates but I’d have loved for an old school afternoon where both the Scottish and FA Cup finals kicked off at the same time. 3pm.
Will Celtic be crowned champions at Tynecastle?
ANDY: There’s no stopping Ange Postecoglou’s team and champagne corks will be popping long before the full-time whistle sounds at Tynecastle.
CRAIG: They might even do so without winning themselves because Aberdeen are flying and might get something at Ibrox with Rangers’ season over.
FRASER: It’s almost impossible to see why not. Their domestic record this season has been close to flawless. A trip to Tynecastle will hold no fear for the relentless Hoops and they’ll cross the line in Gorgie hassle-free.
How many new faces does Michael Beale need at Rangers?
ANDY: He’s admitted there could be a dozen in and out of Ibrox and that seems about right to me. Making so many changes in one window is always a risk but Rangers have gone stale and need a clear out if they’re to find fresh energy.
CRAIG: We’ve heard all this before about teams being light years behind. Four top-class signings would lift the rest. A brilliant keeper. centre-back and two goalscorers covers a lot of sins in any team.
FRASER: A goalkeeper, two full-backs and a central defender, a quality playmaker and two other forwards. At the very least seven. But depending how many are set free then potentially up to 10.
Nomination time approaching. Who is your Premiership Player of the Year?
ANDY: Cameron Carter-Vickers. Kyogo might hog the headlines with his goals but the American centre-back has been the rock Celtic’s Treble push has been built on.
CRAIG: Kyogo, Reo Hatate and Cameron Carter-Vickers are sensational, but a mention for the unflashy Greg Taylor whose part in the creative side of Celtic to back up his solid defending is massively underrated. He’s been brilliant all season long.
FRASER: All the top picks are at Celtic Park. I’ll go for Callum McGregor who in two years as skipper has become a leader of men for the Hoops. Quality on the ball, a ferocious appetite to compete and a proper captain.
