Bournemouth vs Luton Town was abandoned on Saturday when Luton defender Tom Lockyer collapsed in the centre circle during the second half of the game, just months after something similar had happened to him during last season’s Championship play-off final.
Following the scary incident, Lockyer was attended to by paramedics and staff, when the score was 1-1 with the clock paused at 65 minutes. The defender was removed from the field of play on a stretcher surrounded by the medical team, and there was a standing ovation from the crowd. He was rushed to hospital but a Luton statement later confirmed that he was in a stable condition and the following day said that he was awaiting test and scan results to determine next steps.
