NEW DELHI: For 18 years, Indian hockey's custodian PR Sreejesh stood like a rock in front of the goalpost, making it difficult for the opponents to breach the citadel. If Rahul Dravid was 'The Wall' for Indian cricket, Sreejesh was 'The Wall' for Indian hockey who used his 6-ft-tall frame to deny attackers' attempts to score.
Sreejesh, who played for nearly two decades and featured in over 300 games for the country, brought the end to his career after helping India clinch the bronze medal at the Paris Olympics. Before the Games, Sreejesh had announced that Paris would be his last outing in India colours.
