Wilko set to make major change to toys sold in UK stores

Wilko is set to make a major change to all of its UK stores. The retailer - which is headquartered in Worksop - said it wants to get back to its "heritage" with a main focus on household and garden items.

It means there will be a reduction in the range of toys Wilko sells. According to industry magazine Toy World, the company made the announcement in a letter to its suppliers.

The Echo reports Wilko will "discontinue an all-year-round toy offer" in its stores as part of a "long-term strategic direction". However, it's not all bad news as Wilko has reassured toy suppliers with the message it will continue to offer "seasonal/outdoor toys" relevant to the time of year.
