Wigan Athletic, Bolton Wanderers and Sunderland predictions made for rest of League One season

Bolton Wanderers returned to winning ways over the weekend and got their first three points of 2022.

Ian Evatt's side won 2-0 against Ipswich Town thanks to goals from Kieran Lee and Dapo Afolayan.

The victory has seen Wanderers move up a place in the League One table to 17th.

Throughout the campaign, football statistics website FiveThirtyEight is forecasting how the League One table might finish after the results of every matchday, with the season reaching the climax of the regular season at the end of April before the play-offs.

And in a change from earlier this month, Wigan Athletic are now tipped to be achieving automatic promotion to the Championship, alongside Rotherham United.

Sunderland are now predicted to finish in the play-offs, alongside Wycombe Wanderers and MK Dons, with Sheffield Wednesday sneaking into the top six in place of Oxford United.

Wanderers are still tipped to finish in 14th place, despite the victory over the Tractor Boys, while the four clubs tipped to go down now tipped to be Morecambe, Crewe Alexandra, Gillingham and Doncaster Rovers.
