The entire NFL world has been on high alert for Aaron Rodgers’s decision regarding his career future ahead of the 2023 season.
The Packers quarterback could be traded to Jets, remain in Green Bay for his 19th NFL season or retire from the league. Rodgers met with the Jets on March 6, and the four-time NFL MVP reportedly shared a wish list of players whom he would want New York to target. Amid that backdrop, many fans and pundits expect the 39-year-old to secure a trade to New York.
However, while waiting, no one seems to be more stressed out than ESPN’s Mike Greenberg, a diehard Jets fan. Greenberg, the host of the ESPN’s Get Up, knows that the Jets’ acquiring Rodgers almost certainly would change the trajectory of the franchise, a team that holds longest active playoff drought.
Greenberg’s wife, Stacy, revealed via social media what her husband has been going through amid the torrent of recent rumors, reports and drips of information regarding the potential blockbuster trade. Stacy tweeted a picture of Greenberg with his head in his hand with his computer in front of him with the caption, “Here’s how it’s going. #Jets.”
Also, the Greenbergs recently went on a date where Rodgers news (or perhaps the lack thereof) seemed to interrupt the couple’s evening.
“Dinner date. Anytime, Aaron. Anytime. #Jets,” Stacy tweeted.
As Greenberg awaits Rodgers’s fate, like the remainder of the NFL world, the Jets reportedly have begun making moves to land the 10-time Pro Bowler. On Tuesday, New York reportedly targeted Packers receiver Randall Cobb and finalized a four-year deal with Allen Lazard, another Green Bay receiver.
But, the final decision remains in the discussions between Rodgers, the Packers and the Jets. Hopefully, Greenberg won’t be too stressed by the outcome.
