Widow's touching promise to husband killed in crash as she pays tribute to 'kind' dad

A mum has made a heartfelt pledge to her late husband after he was cruelly taken away from her in a motorbike crash.

Kayleigh Kenyon said she will always put their son first and “be the best mum I possibly can”.

Adam Michael Kenyon, 30, suffered fatal injuries in a collision with a van on the A470 near Betws-y-Coed on Saturday afternoon. He lived in the Kinmel Bay area of Conwy.

The son of Kevin and Claire, he left behind his wife Kayleigh and son Tommy. His family paid tribute to a man who “lived life to the full”, reports North Wales Live.

They said: “Adam was a handsome young man who had so much to look forward to. He was extremely kind, generous and energetic. He always wanted to help others and was very generous with his time – he really did have a heart of gold.

“Adam was one of a kind, who lived life to the full and always his way. He loved his family and had a huge passion for cars/bikes and made many amazing friends along the way.

“It’s overwhelming how many of his friends have shown their support and paid tributes. He always put his family first, especially Tommy who meant the world to him.”

Kayleigh said Adam’s death had created a “huge void in our lives”. Paying her own tribute, she made a moving promise to her late husband.

She said: “I will miss you deeply Adam. We had so much to look forward to, which has sadly been taken away far too soon.

“I promise I will always put Tommy first and be the best mum I possibly can to our beautiful son. He will never forget you. We love you and I will miss you so much, my darling husband and best friend.

“We would like to thank the emergency services for their attendance at the tragic scene of the collision, and the people at the scene who helped Adam. Also, his best friend Chris, who was by his side, as always doing everything he possibly could and staying with him until the end.

“Our sad loss has created such a huge void in our lives which will never be filled and shall remain with us forever. Sleep tight Adam – from all your loving family.”

North Wales Police is continuing to appeal to anybody who witnessed the collision, which occurred shortly after 1pm on Saturday, May 13. The force also wants to hear from anyone who may have been travelling along the A470 near Betws-y-Coed shortly before 1pm and who may have dash cam footage.

Adam’s motorbike was in collision with a silver Citroen Berlingo between Lon Muriau and Zip World Fforest. Anybody with information can contact the police via its live webchat on the website, or by calling 101, quoting reference number A071083.
