Wicked the musical will return to Australia in 2023 to mark its 20th anniversary on Broadway

Crossroads Live has today announced a new Australian production of the smash-hit musical Wicked will open at Sydney's Lyric Theatre in August 2023.

The production is slated to coincide with the show's 20th Broadway anniversary, and was announced Monday morning by Crossroads Live (CXL) Australia chief executive John Frost alongside NSW Minister for the Arts and Tourism Ben Franklin at Sydney's Museum of Contemporary Art.

Frost, who has four other shows in season presently (Hairspray, 9 to 5, The Mousetrap, and Cinderella) says two years of COVID has left audiences hungry for "feel-good" experiences.
