Canberra is getting an extra public holiday in April. Here's why

An extra public holiday will be declared in Canberra next year when Anzac Day is marked on Sunday while the government works out a permanent solution to the day falling at weekends.

Both Sunday, April 25 and Monday, April 26 will be declared as public holidays, the ACT government said.
