There have been delays on the M4 in Swansea on Wednesday morning as a lane was blocked following an incident involving two vehicles on the motorway. Traffic monitoring site Inrix reported the incident happened between 47 A48 at Penllergaer /Swansea West Services and J46 A48 Clasemont Road, Llangyfelach.
Congestion was reported all the way to J48 at Hendy/Llanelli and along the A4240 in Gorseinon and the A483 Cadle roundabout too, while motorists were advised travelling along these routes would take at least 15 minutes longer than usual.
Traffic monitoring site Inrix initially reported that one lane was blocked after the incident, but later reported understood all lanes had re-opened.

The latest update on the traffic, as of 8.38am, explained: "Queueing traffic due to earlier accident, two vehicles involved on M4 Eastbound from J47 A48 (Penllergaer / Swansea West Services) to J46 A48 Clasemont Road (Llangyfelach). Congestion to J48 (Hendy / Llanelli), A4240 Gorseinon and the A483 Cadle Roundabout. All lanes have been re-opened. Camera shows traffic is clearing. one lane was blocked, delays remain."

A spokesperson for South Wales Police said: "Shortly after 6.50am this morning (April 6), South Wales Police was called to a road traffic collision on the M4 Eastbound between junction 47 and 46.
"The collision involved a car and a lorry. The are no reported serious injuries, and enquiries are ongoing."
