Liverpool Legends were in action at the weekend, but one of the opposing players made the headlines.
The Reds claimed a 2-1 win at Anfield on Saturday, thanks to goals from Mark Gonzalez and Florent Sinama Pongolle. It was the second instalment of the ‘Legends of the North’, with the reserve fixture at Old Trafford finishing 3-1 to Liverpool back in May.
Shortly before kick-off, Man United legend Roy Keane was added to the squad for the visitors. The Sky Sports pundit came off the bench in the second half, and received a wave of boos from the Anfield crowd.

Seemingly every time Keane touched the ball, the home fans went on to boo the former United captain. Despite featuring in the match, the 51-year-old played just 15 minutes.
However, one moment from Keane certainly caught the attention. As he entered the field of play, after replacing Darron Gibson, one of his United team-mates approached him.
Ronny Johnsen approached Keane following his arrival as a late substitute and offered to give him the captain’s armband. However, the renowned pundit refused to take up the offer and pushed the defender away.
