Oliver Skipp was not punished for a tackle that left Liverpool's Luis Diaz hurt because VAR officials considered that the ball was won by the Tottenham midfielder.
Skipp caught Diaz on the shin with a late, studs showing challenge in the 34th minute of the match at Anfield, leaving the winger writhing in agony on the turf.
But after a break in play for Diaz to receive treatment, no free-kick was awarded to Liverpool, nor was Skipp penalised with either a yellow or, as many Reds fans thought was deserved, a red card.

The ECHO understands that VAR officials considered that Skipp 'clearly' got the ball and the final contact was just a consequence of the two players competing for the ball.
Liverpool were 3-0 up at the time after goals from Curtis Jones, Diaz and Mohamed Salah inside 15 minutes of the first half. Harry Kane would pull one back late in the half to give Spurs hope.
