Why Mark Noble was spotted watching Monaco vs PSG and missed West Ham draw with Chelsea

West Ham United sporting director Mark Noble has been spotted in attendance at the Ligue 1 match between Monaco and Paris Saint-Germain on Saturday afternoon.

Noble, who recently became the club’s sporting director, has been pictured on Twitter by Alessandro Schiavone in the crowd for the Ligue 1 affair at Stade-Louis II.

With Noble’s role involving a say in the West Ham ’s transfer business, the game, kicking off at 4pm UK time on Saturday, could show a sign of who the Hammers are potentially looking at ahead of the transfer window re-opening in the summer.

Of the eight senior signings made last season, four were from Ligue 1, with Lucas Paqueta, Nayef Aguerd, Thilo Kehrer and Alphonse Areola arriving from Olympique Lyonnais, Stade Rennais and PSG respectively, the latter owning Kehrer and Areola. Emerson, who joined from Chelsea in August, also spent last season on loan at Lyon.

In the game, Monaco sealed a 3-1 win over PSG to move to within seven points of the Ligue 1 leaders.

Alexander Golovin opened the scoring before Wissam Ben Yedder netted twice in the first half, either side of Warren Zaire Emery pulling one back for the visitors.

Here is a list of who was involved in the game as PSG were without Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe, with a clue as to who Noble may have been running the rule over.
