A number of major UK names are still operating in Russia despite other global companies closing shops and restaurants and shutting down factories since the invasion of Ukraine.
Companies such as McDonald's Coca Cola, Pepsi, Apple, Unilever, KFC and Pizza Hut have all stopped trading in Russia as well as stopping imports and exports. But branches of M&S and Burger King remain open as do hotels operated by Accor and Marriott - and the companies behind them say there is little they can do at this stage.
The brands say they are unable to close the operations in Russia as they do not directly own them - instead they are operating under complex franchise and licensing arrangements, Wales Online reports. According to the BBC, the companies have around 1,000 outlets operating under their names in Russia.
