Why Leandro Trossard missed Arsenal training ahead of crucial Premier League clash vs Everton

Arsenal travel to Goodison Park to take on relegation-threatened Everton on Saturday in a crucial Premier League fixture for both sides.

The Gunners currently sit on top of the table, five points ahead of second-placed Manchester City despite playing one game less than Pep Guardiola's men. Meanwhile, the Toffees find themselves at the opposite end of the standings, languishing in 19th place, two points from safety.

That run of form resulted in the Merseyside club relieving Frank Lampard of his managerial duties last week, with former Burnley boss Sean Dyche coming in as his replacement and his first game in the managerial dugout will be up against Mikel Arteta and co. Ahead of the north Londoners' trip up north, new signing Leandro Trossard missed training on Tuesday, although Arsenal fans will be happy to know that the Belgian's reasons were not injury related.

In fact, as per journalist Connor Humm, Trossard was absent from the club's London Colney training ground because his girlfriend had been expecting a child. The talented forward arrived at the Emirates Stadium from Brighton during the January transfer window before playing a crucial role off the bench to help beat Manchester United 3-2 less than a fortnight ago.

"Straight away he had a beautiful impact on the team to help us to win," Arteta said last week when asked about Trossard's performance against United. "That’s what I like. I see a player that is willing to make things happen and he is especially composed in the final third and is something we needed to add to the team."
