Why isn't Inter Milan vs Liverpool on TNT Sports tonight? Champions League TV schedule explained

Liverpool have the shadow of the Mohamed Salah saga hanging over them as they prepare to face Inter Milan in the Champions League tonight.

The Reds icon has been at the heart of the biggest story in English football over recent days, having delivered a bombshell interview after Saturday’s last-gasp 3-3 draw with Leeds - the third Premier League game in a row for which he was named on the bench.

In a remarkable rant, Salah hinted at a potential exit from Liverpool in January just eight months after signing a new two-year contract at Anfield, while he said he felt that he had been “thrown under the bus” and made a scapegoat for the club’s high-profile failings this season, also claiming that his relationship with manager Arne Slot had broken down.

Liverpool responded to such an outburst by dropping Salah from their squad completely for Tuesday’s trip to Italy, where another tough test beckons against Serie A giants inside the famous San Siro.

However, they insist it is not a punishment and they appear to have belief that the Egyptian superstar - who will go to the Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco after Saturday’s meeting with Brighton - could yet stay at the club.

Why isn't Inter Milan vs Liverpool on TNT Sports tonight?

Though every other Champions League, Europa League and Conference League fixture is being shown live on TNT Sports this week, that is not the case for Inter Milan vs Liverpool.

That is because, as per the current shared broadcasting rights deal for Champions League football in the UK, Amazon Prime Video get the first pick of one match to show live on Tuesday nights up until the semi-finals.

This week they have chosen the showdown at the San Siro, having previously screened Chelsea’s thumping 3-0 victory over Barcelona during the last round of games. Their coverage begins at 6:30pm GMT.

Amazon Prime Video will continue to show a first-pick game live on Tuesday nights as part of the next Champions League broadcasting deal in the UK, which kicks in from 2027 with Paramount+ having recently won the rights in a bumper deal said to be worth in excess of £1billion.

The BBC will also continue to show free-to-air highlights of the competition on Wednesday nights.

Meanwhile, as of 2027/28, exclusive broadcasting rights for the Europa League and Conference League in the UK will go to Sky Sports.
