Some Fortnite players have started getting the 'Waiting in Queue' message pop-up as they're trying to get into the servers ahead of the Zero Hour season finale.
While Zero Hour is still a few minutes away from launch, many players have been logging in early. This was also recommended by the developers to avoid server load. If you're getting this message, you're not alone.
What does the 'Waiting in Queue' message mean in Fortnite
In simple words, the 'Waiting in Queue' message means that too many players are trying to log into the servers at the same time. If that happens, it can cause network disturbances and outages for all. To prevent that, Epic Games has placed the queue so that only a certain number of players can log in at a given time.
This allows players to log in smoothly despite having to wait for a specific amount of time. This will vary based on your luck and how many players are trying to join the servers ahead of you. If the queue is in place, there's no way to bypass the restriction. You'll have to wait patiently till the time is up, which will allow you to access all the modes.
While the latest incident is happening ahead of the Zero Hour finale event, there have been such queues in the past. If you logged in early, chances are that you haven't had to wait. If you're unfortunate enough, your only option is to wait patiently. As an alternative, try switching your servers, as all the queues are region-based. A region with fewer active players might not have the queue in the first place.
There's plenty in store for Fortnite players on Nov. 29, as we have the Zero Hour finale event coming up at 1pm CT, followed by Chapter 7 a few hours later. Expect to have a few login issues as players from all over the globe will be aiming to enjoy all the new content.
