Why is JSP silent on farmer deaths during TDP regime, asks Anantha

The Jana Sena Party has selectively chosen to help farmers who had committed suicide in the past 33 months, which shows Pawan Kalyan and his party JSP are acting as a tool for the Telugu Desam Party, alleged Anantapur Urban MLA Anantha Venkatarami Reddy.

At a press conference here on Tuesday evening, Mr. Venkatarami Reddy, in response to the allegations made by JSP president Pawan Kalyan at the Mannila public meeting, questioned Mr. Pawan Kalyan if he could not see such deaths during the TDP rule and that he should have taken Chandrababu Naidu to task for not recording several farmers’ suicides in those five years.

It was during the Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy rule that the compensation was increased to ₹7 lakh and scientific recording of all the reported suicides was done, unlike during the previous regime, when there was no record, he said. The present government was paying ₹13,500 as annual input cost to all small and marginal farmers in the State besides aiding them through seed subsidy, RBKs, etc., he said.

He told Mr. Pawan Kalyan not to do politics with the lives of farmers.
