Hugo Lloris was substituted at half-time of Tottenham Hotspur's embarrassing afternoon at Newcastle United due to an apparent injury problem.
football.london's Spurs writer Alasdair Gold confirmed at the break Lloris tweaked something during a shambolic first half which saw him withdrawn at the interval. "Hugo Lloris apparently couldn't continue due to an injury sustained in the first half, having tweaked something," Gold tweeted.
The Spurs captain was forced to pick the ball out of the back of the net five times in the opening 21 minutes in an extraordinary first half collapse. Lloris' involvement in a number of the goals can certainly be called into question, with at least three of the goals more than avoidable from his point of view. It was his parry for the first that fell straight into the path of Jacob Murphy, despite Joelinton's shot having a distinct lack of power on it.

He was then rooted to the spot for Murphy's second and Newcastle's third of the day, despite having plenty of time to at least make an effort for a strike that wasn't completely in the corner. What's more, for the fifth, Lloris got a hand to Alexander Isak's effort from a fairly tight angle and should've almost certainly been able to keep it out.
The recently retired France international was then replaced at the break by second string goalkeeper Fraser Forster, though it remains to be seen just how serious the injury is. Spurs have a quick turn around for their next match, as they are back in action against Manchester United on Thursday, where a defeat would all but end their hopes of a top four finish.
