Why Haas fears loss of ground to Alpine in F1's upper-midfield battle

After the Japanese Grand Prix, Haas sat in the heady heights of fourth in Formula 1's constructors' championship, two points clear of Alpine. Yet, a muted weekend at its 'home' race in Miami has now put it five points behind the Anglo-French outfit, courtesy of Pierre Gasly's sprint race point and Franco Colapinto's run to seventh.

Much of that can be put down to the efficacy of their respective updates; Alpine made a raft of changes to its aero package, while Haas only registered one change in Miami: a small additional element to the diffuser winglet.
