Ebanie Bridges will step out at the First Direct Arena on Saturday night for her second fight in Leeds after beating Mailys Gangloff at Headingley in September. That was on the undercard of Josh Warrington vs Mauricio Lara and she drew the attention of the locals on her visit by revealing that she was a fan of the same football club as the Yorkshireman, Leeds United.
Bridges has been pictured in Leeds kit before, when turning up for her fight at Headingley, although she has not confirmed what sparked her love of the Whites. She follows in the footsteps of fellow Australian Russell Crowe in supporting the Elland Road club and will be hoping that she bring some of his Gladiator spirit to the ring on Saturday night.
Hailing from New South Wales, the 34-year-old 'Blonde Bomber' has recently moved to the United Kingdom in her pursuit of a world title and will hope to secure the IBF Bantamweight belt against Maria Cecilia Roman tonight. Ahead of the fight she expressed her excitement at being in the city, saying: “It’s absolutely unreal, to be a co-main event fighting in Leeds for a World Title, I just feel so grateful. Cecilia coming over here to fight me, I’m just so excited about this fight, I’ve been excited about having this for before it was even happening.

“I wanted this fight because I knew it was going to be a great fight, as in a fan-favourite kind of fight. Having the World Title on the line just makes everything even more exciting for me."
Bridges has also shown her support for the Whites by posing with a scarf and visiting Elland Road. After her fourth professional fight against Crystal Hoy in America, Bridges posed in a Whites shirt in a social media post which had the song ‘glory, glory Leeds United’ playing over the top.

Her fight comes before Warrington's IBF featherweight world title contest against Kiko Martinez.
