What if two characters in the Mahabharata were actually connected by the same divine principle? Yudhishthira was known as Dharmaraja, the son of Dharma, while Vidura was also traditionally associated with Dharma. Yet their connection becomes truly mysterious near the end of Vidura’s life. When Yudhishthira visits the forest and finds Vidura living as an ascetic, something unexpected happens. Vidura looks at him, says nothing and eventually leaves his body. According to the traditional account, his spiritual essence passes into Yudhishthira. This extraordinary moment raises a deeper question: why did Dharma appear to return to Yudhishthira?
