The Premier League contest between Arsenal and Chelsea had briefly been paused.
A stoppage of play was called by the referee following Thomas Partey's header as Chelsea fans in the Matthew Harding Stand made people aware of an issue in the crowd.
Paramedics made their way over to the stand to oversee the incident. It was after this that a member of the crowd was taken out of the ground.

Play resumed a few minutes after the referee had initially bought the match to a halt. The incident had taken place in the 55th minute, with play resuming once again with 57 minutes on the clock.
Arsenal would go on to take the lead shortly after in the 63rd minute as Gabriel Magalhaes opened the scoring for the Gunners after the ball was whipped across the box from a corner, which gave the Brazilian a tap-in.
