Why Canberra's new swarm of 'magical' moths might bring good luck

We should rejoice that the bogong moth is back in Canberra. The tiny creature was once thought to be on the way to extinction but now countless gardeners testify that it's back in abundance.

"I've lived in Canberra for the last 25 years and this is the first time I've seen moths swarming a cherry tree," Gurkan Yeniceri of Harrison said. He was tending the tree when he saw "easily hundreds".

"They were going flower to flower. I think they were after the nectar in the flowers and at the same time pollinating my cherry tree."
