Why Baldwin's Crescent and part of Fabian Way in Swansea Bay was closed this morning

A lane of Fabian Way and Baldwin's Crescent junction was closed for several hours today after a crash.

Medics were alerted to the crash in Fabian Way, between Neath Port Talbot county and Swansea, at around 7.28am on Tuesday, March 9.

Police confirmed the collision involved one motorcycle and one woman, aged 28, was taken to University Hospital Wales, Cardiff.

The junction to Baldwins Crescent remained closed for over four hours while police gathered evidence following the incident.

The roads re-opened just before 12pm.

At the time of the incident, a spokesperson for South Wales Police said: "South Wales Police is currently in attendance at Fabian Way, Swansea, after reports of a road traffic collision at 7.35am this morning, March 9.

"The collision involved one motorcycle. A 28-year-old woman has been conveyed to hospital to be treated for injuries.

"The junction to Baldwins Crescent is currently closed and motorists are advised to find alternative routes where possible."

A Welsh Ambulance Spokesperson added: "We were called this morning at 7:28am to reports of a road traffic collision on Fabian Way in Swansea.

"We sent one emergency ambulance and one person was taken to the University Hospital of Wales Cardiff for further treatment.”
