Why aren’t Liverpool playing today? Next Premier League fixture for Jurgen Klopp's side

Waiting a week to watch your team play is hard enough but extending that to two certainly makes matters worse for Liverpool fans, with the Reds out of action for a total of 14 days.

And this is due to the Premier League ’s current winter break, with Jurgen Klopp’s side afforded a lengthy resting period following a hectic season so far, along with the rest of the top flight’s clubs.

Liverpool will continue to train as normal during this time period, although Klopp has allowed his players a few days rest following the Crystal Palace victory, and hope that their injured players can continue to get back to full fitness.

However, Anfield will see a return to action earlier than some Premier League clubs, when the Reds are in FA Cup Fourth Round action, just four days before playing in the league.

Here is the current state of play at Anfield ahead of Liverpool’s return to action next month.

Have Your Say! Will Liverpool win any silverware this season? Let us know your thoughts here.

The Reds are back in action on Sunday, February 6 when they host Championship side Cardiff City at Anfield in the Fourth Round of the FA Cup.
