Aleksandar Mitrovic's tackle on Idrissa Gueye was checked by VAR during Everton's clash with Fulham in the Premier League on Saturday.
Midway through the first half, the burly forward was late in his attempt to win the ball from the Blues midfielder and planted his foot into Gueye's shin.
The tackle left the Senegal international in significant discomfort, although he was able to continue after receiving treatment on the field. Everton manager Frank Lampard and his coaching staff, along with a number of Blues players, were left incensed by the challenge.
