Why a London-bound flight was diverted to Saudi Arabia

  • An Air India flight, AI133, travelling from Bengaluru to London, was diverted to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, due to a suspected technical fault.
  • The Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner had been airborne for over six hours when the diversion occurred.
  • The flight landed safely in Jeddah about 2pm GMT, with all passengers and crew confirmed to be unharmed.
