Whoopi Goldberg slammed by The View fans for 'disrespectful comment' after live mishap

The View fans have slammed Whoopi Goldberg for whispering a "disrespectful" comment after believing the show had cut to an ad break.

Whoopi and her The View panellists, including regulars Joy Behar and Sunny Hostin, were having a discussion about cheating. She asked them what they would do if a friend told them they were having affair on their partner.

Joy joked that unless her friend was having an affair with her husband Steve Janowitz, then it had nothing to do with her and she would stay out of the situation.

While her co-hosts had differing opinions on the matter, they all somewhat agreed that they wouldn't do anything with the information as it was none of their business, but the Hollywood actress appeared to become uninterested in the matter.

At one point, she slumped in her chair and rested her head on her hand, turning from her fellow panellists and staring aimlessly elsewhere in the room.

It then seemed as though she had been given the go-ahead to send the show to an ad break and which the camera was on her co-hosts, some fans overhead Whoopi whispering, "Thank god," into her mic.

The camera then panned to her as she shut down the conversation and without warning said: "We’ll be right back," cutting off her panellists.

One fan who had caught on to the on-air blunder tweeted: "Whoopi saying ‘Thank God’ when they were finished with that topic.

“Of course she would! KINDA if I hadn't heard. But she didn't say it that loud, at least. Just sayin’."

Whoopi was caught in a similar situation when she could be heard begging for help during a conversation about organisation which divided her co-stars.

She started the debate by saying: "According to an article in the New York Times, the Marie Kondo era of de-cluttering life is being replaced by people showing off their disorganized cluttered places on social media in a new trend called 'messy girl aesthetic.'"

Joy and Sunny were soon embroiled in a hilariously heated debate about the matter, which Whoopi unsuccessfully tried to break up. She was then heard whispering a high-pitched "help" to the producers.
