Love Island has also confirmed its first twist, announcing the public would get to choose between two late arrivals to become the show's first bombshells. The choice is between 25-year-old Ellie Spence, a Business Development Executive at a law firm from Norwich, or Tom Clare, a 23-year-old semi-pro footballer from Barnsley. But who won Love Island 2022 and who was crowned champion during the last and only other winter edition of the show? Here's everything you need to know.
Who won Love Island 2022?
Last year, Love Island was won by Ekin-Su Culculoglu and Davide Sanclimenti. Despite a very bumpy road in the villa, the duo won the nation's hearts and have since gone on to delight fans by appearing in a spin-off show together that follows their lives post-villa.
The two-part programme, which was called Ekin-Su & Davide: Homecomings, saw the pair pack their suitcases again for two new adventures. They visited Davide's hometown Frosinone and headed to Turkey, where Ekin-Su introduced Davide to the colleagues she met while living and working as an actress. Ekin-Su will also burst back onto screens when she appears in Dancing On Ice in January.
Who won Winter Love Island 2020?
Paige Turley and Finn Tapp were the winners of the first-ever series of winter Love Island. The pair, who split the £50,000 prize money between them, moved into together shortly after their win as the world went into lockdown.
They are still together and regularly update fans on social media. They beat Siannise Fudge and Luke Trotman in the final.
Love Island starts Monday, January 16 at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX. For more showbiz and television stories get our newsletter here.
