Will Young, 23, is swapping his Buckinghamshire farm for a South African villa as he’s headed for Love Island.

Not to be confused with the Pop Idol star, Young is a farmer famous for his TikTok videos.

Known as Farmer Will to his 1.1 million followers, Young will appear on the winter season of the ITV reality show.

He’s amassed a following on social media by documenting his life on the farm, from feeding pigs to shearing sheep, since posting his first video in 2019.

While his social media following is sure to grow during his time on Love Island, Young is already making the most of having a huge TikTok following, having created an advert with Claudia Winkleman for Head and Shoulders.

The ad saw The Traitors presenter pour a bucket of water over Young’s head as they advertised the shampoo from a pig pen.

Young has said he has found it “difficult juggling relationships” while working at the farm and he is now “mature enough” to settle down with a wife.

But potential candidates needn’t fear about their lack of farming experience, as Young said: “My mum didn’t step on the farm for the first 20 years of my mum and dad’s marriage!

“What attracts me is energy, if the energy is there, she can do whatever she wants.

“As long as she respects what I do and my busy times of the year, then that’s all I need. If she loves it, bonus! But it’s not a big issue for me.”

But if Young leaves the villa with a romantic interest, the lucky lady can expect to go on romantic dates on the farm.

He said: “I’m not a big dater but the dates I’ve been on have been super romantic. For the right girl, I can be quite romantic.

“Once I took a girl on a date to the bottom of our farm where there’s this really nice hill with amazing views surrounding it. I put fairy lights all up in the tree, I set up a picnic with wine and we watched the sunset.”

Love Island begins on Monday, January 16, on ITV2 and ITVX.
