The latest contestants for Strictly Come Dancing’s 20th season are beginning to be announced, with Tyler West becoming the seventh name to be added to the new series of the popular BBC show.
Presented by Tess Daly and Claudia Winklemen, Strictly has remained as popular as ever with fans, staying on our screens long after other shows with similar formats have fallen by the wayside. This year’s competition will be judged by Shirley Ballas, Motsi Mabuse, Craig Revel-Horwood and former pro contestant Anton Du Beke, with the audience watching at home also getting to vote for their favourites.
A live studio audience will also be back this year for the first time since Covid restrictions were introduced, with tickets already available for the first pre-record on August 24 and then the launch show which records on September 7.

Who is Tyler West?
Tyler West is a radio DJ who primarily works on Kiss FM, but has previously presented shows on MTV News, CBBC and BBC Three. West is the co-host of Flat Out Fabulous alongside Whinnie Williams and presents his own show on Kiss FM every week Monday to Friday, from 4pm-7pm.
On announcing he was to star in the upcoming series of Strictly, the DJ said: "I am so gassed to be joining the Strictly family! As I started writing this I already got cramp.”
He added: “It’s going to be one crazy incredible journey which will no doubt be SO far outside my comfort zone. It’s a show that means so much to me and my family and I can’t wait to seriously shake a leg on that shiny dance floor… with a side of sequins."
What contestants have been confirmed for Strictly Come Dancing so far?
Tyler West is joined by the likes of Loose Women’s Kaye Adams, Coronation Street stars Will Mellor and Kym Marsh, Radio 2 presenter Richie Anderson, comedian Jayde Adams and Paralympic athlete Ellie Simmonds. Kaye Adams asked fans to pray for her, and said: “I said I wanted to make the last year of my fifties memorable and I can’t think of a better way of doing it than showing the world my two left feet.”
Richie Anderson shared this enthusiasm, and said: "This is a dream come true! I cannot wait to get in those sparkles and sequins and shimmy across the most famous dance floor in the world!”
