For Battalion Under Officer Sparsh Chhetri of Dehradun, joining the Indian Army represents both a personal decision and the continuation of a four-generation family association with military service. His great-grandfather served in the British Indian Army, while his grandfather and father went on to serve as Infantry officers. His mother also served in the Army Educational Corps.
