Who is Robert Kraft? Billionaire stadium owner who axed Macklemore from Sheeran tour

• Robert Kraft is an American billionaire stadium and NFL owner who is central to rapper Macklemore being dropped from Ed Sheeran ’s US Loop tour.
• Macklemore was removed from Sheeran's tour line-up after Kraft, who owns tour venue the Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts, accused the artist of hate speech for making pro-Palestinian comments on stage.
• Last week, Sheeran's promoter said Macklemore was dropped to prevent venues cancelling shows, which subsequently prompted other support acts to withdraw in protest. Meanwhile, Sheeran defended his decision to proceed with the tour to avoid disappointing fans.
• On Thursday, Kraft said Sheeran - who performed at the businessman’s wedding in 2022 - asked him to match his $2m (£1.5m) donation towards humanitarian aid in the region following the saga.
• Macklemore had pledged $1m to Palestinian organisations and challenged Kraft to match it prior to Kraft revealing Sheeran's donation request.
