The masked and heavily-armed suspect accused of killing five people in a mass shooting in the Kingsessing neighbourhood of Philadelphia has been identified as a 40-year-old with a history of gun offences.
Philadelphia district attorney Larry Krasner named Kimbrady Carriker on Wednesday as the shooter who sowed chaos and fear into the neighbourhood during the Fourth of July break, when residents should have been celebrating the holidays.
