Hollyoaks fans will be delighted to know that Owen Warner will be heading to Australia for I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!

The Romeo Nightingale actor will join a stellar line-up featuring celebrities such as the husband of the late Queen’s granddaughter Zara Tindall, Mike Tindall, England Lioness Jill Scott, and radio broadcaster Chris Moyles.

He won’t be the only soap star in the jungle this year, either, as Coronation Street actress Sue Cleaver will also be joining him.

But for those who haven’t seen Hollyoaks, who is Owen Warner?

Who is Owen Warner?

The Leicester-born actor, 23, is best known for playing Romeo Nightingale in the Channel 4 soap opera Hollyoaks.

He has appeared in more than 300 episodes since his debut in 2018, and won the Digital Spy Reader Awards for Best Newcomer.

He made his acting debut playing Trev in the 2015 short film Beverly and appeared in a 2018 short film, 20th Century Tribe, before landing his Hollyoaks role.

Warner appeared on I’m a Celebrity in another capacity in 2018. He was on I’m a Celebrity Extra Camp to support his fellow Hollyoaks actor Malique Thompson-Dwyer.

While other campmates might be worrying about eating rice and beans or competing in Bushtucker trials, Warner says his biggest challenge will be going without his twice-weekly haircuts.

In a bold move, he also revealed he’s asked his family and friends to vote for him to do all the trials.

Warner also hopes to get along with his fellow campmates, saying: “Hopefully I won’t get wound up by everyone.

“If someone is out of order, then I will say something. But I don’t want it to cause any tension and hopefully they will stop. I don’t think I will cry either in the jungle but then again I cry at most films and sometimes even new food."
