Who is Jordan Leavitt? Paddy Pimblett UFC London opponent's record and style

Paddy Pimblett returns to the octagon tonight, fighting for the third time since joining the promotion last year. The Liverpool star comes into the fight with a 2-0 record in the UFC having recorded first-round stoppage victories over Luigi Vendramini and Rodrigo Vargas - both coming in emphatic fashion.

The latter came in London in March, defeating the Mexican Vargas in the first after taking him down and locking in a rear naked choke after a well-executed judo hip toss. Once again though, the win came after Pimblett was on the end of a huge shot - similarly to his win over Luigi Vendramini.

This time around though, the 27-year-old will face a big step up in competition at the London event at the O2 Arena and the he will be hoping to put on a show for his UK fans.

But who is Pimblett's opponent at UFC London, Jordan Leavitt? Here's a look into his career so far, the fighter he is and what we can expect.

Who is Jordan Leavitt?

Leavitt is a 27-year-old MMA fighter from Las Vegas, Nevada. A collegiate wrestler, Leavitt fell in love with MMA after watching the Ultimate Fighter, and would decide to pursue a career in the sport after initially wanting to become a lawyer.

Leavitt made his debut in 2017, sing his superior wrestling and grappling to lock in a Peruvian necktie choke. He would go on to win four further fights by way of submission, before being promoted to the UFC from Dana White's Contender Series.

Since entering the UFC, Leavitt has a 3-1 record - with his only loss coming by a decision against Claudio Puelles, who has since gone on to defeat Clay Guida.

But Leavitt has bounced back from that loss, and now the 'Monkey King' is seen as a very dangerous opponent in the lightweight division, with a 10-1 record with six coming by the way of submission.

Leavitt is also a powerful striker, with Pimblett taking big hits in both of his wins in the UFC, he'll have to be aware of his power.

When will Pimblett be fighting Leavitt?

The two will meet on the main event card at UFC London tonight.

Tom Aspinall will headline the card against Curtis Blaydes, while Molly McCann is also in action.

Coverage of tonight's event will begin at 6 pm on BT Sport 1 - and you can follow all the action HERE in our live blog.
