Jon Kay has been confirmed as the new BBC Breakfast presenter. The host will take over the role from Dan Walker who left the red sofa after six years in May for a position at Channel 5 News.
The 52-year-old, who starts his new role with immediate effect, will become the new regular presenter on BBC Breakfast from Monday to Wednesday alongside Sally Nugent, Naga Munchetty and Charlie Stayt.
Announcing the news, Jon said: "So delighted to share this news and join the outstanding @BBCBreakfast team full time. An absolute honour to front the UK's number one morning show with my mates @sallynugent @TVNaga01 and Charlie (and his new cat!)"
