Holly Willoughby has announced she is stepping down from presenting This Morning after 14 years on the ITV show.
In an Instagram post shared on Tuesday, the 42-year-old presenter said it was an “honour to just be part of its story”, however, she feels she had “to make this decision for me and my family”.
Willoughby said: “This is such a difficult goodbye, you are incredible and I forever will be proud of what we’ve done together.”
Alison Hammon is the current favourite to replace Holly Willoughby, with Josie Gibson, Rochelle Humes and Lisa Snowdon also rumoured to be in the running.
But who is her other half? Here, we take a look at her husband Dan Baldwin.
Who is Daniel Baldwin?
Dan Baldwin is a 48-year-old TV producer. During his career life, Baldwin has worked on a number of hit television shows including Michael McIntyre’s Big Show, Bradley Walsh & Son: Breaking Dad and Virtually Famous.
He is also the producer behind the hit game show The Wheel and also worked on Celebrity Juice, which Willoughby also took part in.
Baldwin launched his own media production company, Hungry Bear Media, which he is the managing director of and has rumoured to have recently signed a new series of Gladiators to his brand.
What is his net worth?
The couple tend to keep their private lives very low-key. It is estimated that Willoughby’s net worth is around £10million and her husband is worth around £2.5m to £3m. The family live in a £3 million home in South West London.
When did Daniel Baldwin and Holly Willoughby meet?
Baldwin reportedly started his career as a researcher on the BBC show ‘Live & Kicking’. He and Willoughby met while both working together on the kids’ show with Baldwin as a producer on the series, while Willoughby presented the show alongside Stephen Mulhern.
Willoughby recalled their meeting on her Wylde Moon Instagram account: “We met when I was doing Saturday morning kids’ telly, and he was the producer and I was the presenter. I remember I’d already been there for about eight months I think, and then he came in as our new producer, and we started this real intense friendship.
“It was mad actually, there were sort of two other guys that started at the same time, and we just became inseparable.
“We’d rehearse, and then we’d go out afterwards, and then we’d end up... We were filming down in Maidstone Studios and we used to stay in a hotel there. And you know everybody would go to the bar and then everybody would come back into either my room or their room and we’d all sit round just talking and laughing, and I just remember it just being such a fun time.
“I always describe that time as sort of my university years, really. This must have been sort of six months of real intense friendship and I remember this one night we were in the bar and I cheersed Dan. And I remember my eye just caught him for a little bit longer than it should have done, and I looked at him, and thought, ‘Oh my god, I fancy Dan Baldwin.’
“It took me by complete surprise, and then the rest is history.”
They married in August 2007 at St Michael’s Church and held their wedding reception at Amberley Castle in West Sussex. The couple have three children together, Harry, 13, Belle, 11, and Chester, 8.
