Messages of concern have been shared by fans after social-media star Gabbie Hanna posted 100 videos to her TikTok account in a single day.

She refers to herself as “trauma queen” on TikTok and has 7.5 million followers on the app.

In one video, Hanna talks about being “given Heaven”.

“So last night, I literally was given Heaven. I got one day in Heaven because I let go and I trusted God as hard as I could, and I just let it happen. And he gave me Heaven, and it was insane. It was everything they say and better. I could do whatever I wanted.”

In the comments, TikTok users questioned where her family and friends were, and asked if she was OK.

“When I went through a spiritual awakening, I had psychosis and thought I was the second coming of Christ, too, and not in a godly way but like an ascended master type of way, obviously I snapped out of it but this is so dangerous. Especially if she thinks she can’t be hurt,” one user said, relating to her experience.

Under another TikTok posted by Hanna, a comment read “This has to be a manic episode. I hope she’s okay.” Another said: “You’re talking in riddles babes.”

Hanna previously revealed she was diagnosed with bipolar disorder which, according to the NHS, can cause extreme mood swings. These can range from extreme highs (mania) to extreme lows (depression).

“The problem with manic episodes is you feel great. Better than you’ve ever felt. She needs a family member, friend, to see her right now,” one user wrote on one of the TikToks, with another adding, “Hey gabbie, I think it would be good to reach out to a loved one!! Spend some time with someone you love!!”

In many of the clips, Hanna references religion.

In another TikTok, she dances in front of the mirror, with red lipstick smeared over it.

Her most recent TikTok (at the time of writing) was posted with the message: “Someone just broke into my house, please, please just pray for me just in case.” There were more comments of concern left on her sister Cecilia’s TikTok, leading Cecilia to respond:

“This video was filmed and posted a full day before anything was happening or at least before we were aware. We are all in PA and she is in LA.”

“we are doing what can be done from here. at the end of the day you are all strangers on the internet and it is none of your business regardless of level of concern. obviously we are aware and doing what we can. she is an adult. I am a 20 year old on the other side of the country.”

“Comments from this point on are limited because none of you know how to respect personal boundaries. you’re speaking to and about REAL PEOPLE [sic].”

Who is Gabbie Hanna?

Gabbie Hanna is a 31-year-old internet personality who began her internet career sharing videos on Vine in 2013, where she amassed five million followers. She made a name for herself through comedy, and was later nominated for two Teen Choice Awards - Choice Web Star: Female, and Choice Vinera.

In 2014, she began The Gabbie Show on YouTube, which gained popularity in 2017. She would make personality-driven videos with her creator friends and storytime videos about her life.

She was also nominated for YouTuber of the Year at the 2018 Shorty Awards.

Hanna released her debut single Out Loud in 2017, the same year she published her first book of poetry, Adultolescence. She released her second book, Dandelion, in 2020, which went on to become a New York Times bestseller.

But this isn’t the first time Hanna has caused controversy. In 2017, people criticized her for making a video about one of her classmates who died of a drug overdose without consulting the family first. Then, in 2018, she promoted a free (except for shipping) set of make-up brushes. But fans claimed they were poorly made and would shed after the first use. Some fans even said they didn’t receive their order. Instead of apologising, Gabbie blamed her fans, responding in a video: “Are they these amazing, high-quality, can’t-even-believe-it, great brushes?”

“No. I also never said they were... I’m not sure what quality people were expecting when they paid $10 for 10 brushes.”

In an interview, she previously told Buzzfeed News, “I’ll always be OK.”

“That’s my newfound freedom. Like me or don’t.”
