Manchester United have been linked with a move for David Raum.
United are yet to hand Erik ten Hag his first signing as manager of the club but speculation continues to run wild, with Raum the latest in a long line of players to be touted with a move to Old Trafford. Sky Sports Germany report that Borussia Dortmund were keen to sign him but a lack of funds has seen a deal falter.
As a result, United, along with West Ham and Newcastle are said to be interested in making a move for the £34million-rated defender instead. But who is Raum? Here is everything you need to know ...

Name: David Raum
Club: Hoffenheim
Position: Left-back
Date of Birth: April 22, 1998
Age: 24
Place of Birth: Nurnberg
Nationality: German
Foot: Left
Contract expires: June 30, 2026
Raum is a product of the Greuther Furth academy where he spent his formative years before being promoted to the first team as a teenager. The left-back increased the number of appearances he made for the German second-tier side over four consecutive seasons before enjoying a breakout year in 2020/21, in which he registered a massive 17 assists across the campaign.
By that point, his contract at Furth expired and he was snapped up on a free by Hoffenheim last summer. The 24-year-old made the jump up to the Bundesliga with ease and quickly established himself as one of the best left-backs in the country.
After just three starts at his new club, he earned his first cap for Germany, having previously been a key part of the side that won the European under-21 Championship that summer, and went on to start all but two games in the season. His only absence was due to injury and suspension. He scored three goals and registered 13 assists in 32 Bundesliga appearances.
Raum has gone on to play nine times for his country, grabbing two assists, and looks to be making the left-back position his own in Hansi Flick's side. After such an impressive debut campaign in the top flight, he is now being linked with a big move this summer.
Are United interested?
Raum is not currently understood to be a target for United. Though a full-back is being targeted this summer, it's right-back where United are most in need of reinforcements after Ten Hag decided that Aaron Wan-Bissaka is surplus to requirements. Ajax's Jurrien Timber is the current priority defensive target, with the young Ajax centre-back also capable of playing at right-back. United are currently well-stocked at left-back with Luke Shaw and Alex Telles.
