David Egan will be hoping to yet again win the world's richest race on Saturday evening.
The Kildare man will board Mishriff on Saturday as he hopes to scoop a cool €8.5m
The Saudi Cup gets underway at 5.35 pm today and is being dubbed the richest race in the world.
And 22-year-old Egan won the race last year aboard Mishriff and will hope to repeat the feat.
The Kildare man impressed on the five-year-old and pocketed close to €1m for his victory.
And by his side is jockey and trainer Saffie Osborn.
Osborne has her own successful career and has earnings over close to €600,000 in her young career.
And the two have been spending plenty of quality time recently as they eye up the world's richest race.
Speaking ahead of the Saudi Cup, Egan said: “The horse is in good shape again, he’s fit and healthy and he’s got all guns blazing, I suppose
He’s a credit to Team Gosden and everyone at Clarehaven, mentally he must be so strong. He’s a credit to himself as well, to do it on any surface and any trip is quite astonishing really.
“It was a feather in his cap having run well in the (Saudi) Derby out here the year before last and now he’s run well here twice, whereas some will be coming out here for the first time and running on this sort of surface for the first time.
“He’s had a similar prep in the UK, he travels well and takes it all in his stride so I hope things go nice and smoothly into the race.”
