Who is Bombsight in The Boys season 5 and why has he taken the V-One?

Mason Dye as Bombsight, a new Supe in The Boys.

The latest episode of The Boys season 5 brought the characters the closest they've been to V-One as they arrived in a creepy Vought facility. However, neither Homelander and Soldier Boy, nor Billy Butcher and the gang, were able to find it as it turns out it's with another character entirely.

We'll be getting into spoilers from The Boys season 5 episode 4 from here on out so make sure you've seen the latest episode before reading on.

It turns out that another Supe has done away with the V-One and taken it from the facility, "not too long ago" by punching through the safe. The Boys also find heroin in the lab, leading them to guess the responsible party: Bombsight. But who exactly is the new Supe?

Due to be played by Stranger Things star Mason Dye, the character was first mentioned back in season 4 when it was revealed he was a former combat pilot who is the third-oldest Supe in existence. He's also, as many Supes are, a film star and appeared in the Vought movie Curse of Fu Manchu.

He's an original character for the show, too, and not from the comic books, but The Boys did reveal some more details about the character in the latest episode. First of all, we know Bombsight in The Boys is super strong, as he's been able to punch straight through the safe, which, as Butcher reveals, only a few dozen Supes can.

We also know he hasn't been seen "for decades" and was thought to be dead, according to Frenchie. And finally, as Hughie points out, Bombsight is from Soldier Boy's era, so would have likely already been shot up with V-One when he was turned.

His motive for taking the V-One then remains mysterious. Could he be hoping to save some other Supes or even hoping to turn some? We're willing to bet that answers will be imminent as the character looks set to arrive very soon in the show.

This won't be the last time we see him, either, as he's also due to appear in the upcoming Soldier Boy prequel Vought Rising, alongside Soldier Boy and Stormfront.

In the meantime, check out The Boys season 5 recap and The Boys season 5 release schedule to keep up to date with the new series.
