The latest bombshell to hit Love Island is Antigoni Buxton, the fourth female bombshell to shake up the villa after Ekin-Su CuÌlcuÌloglu, Afia Tonkmore and Danica Taylor.
Antigoni’s entrance will surprise the contestants in Wednesday night’s show following the shock departure of Amber Beckford and Ikenna Ekwonna on Tuesday night.
But who is the latest contestant ready to mix up ITV2’s summer of love?
Who is Antigoni Buxton?
Antigoni Buxton is a 26-year-old singer-songwriter from London.
She has Cypriot heritage, and her mother is celebrity chef and restaurateur, Tonia Buxton, who owns the restaurant chain, The Real Greek. TV fans may recognise her famous mum from her regular appearance on Sunday Brunch.
Tonia reacted to her daughter entering Love Island on Instagram, where she said: “’I can not believe that my Antigoni is in the Love Island Villa. She mentioned she would be sunbathing this week—I didn’t think she meant in Mallorca!”
She added: “We are all so excited for you and know you will be amazing! You have always been an island girl, so I know you will fit right in!
“Hoping you all love and support my girl, I know she will make us proud! Tune in to my stories every night where I will be commentating [on] the show, or trying to!”
Antigoni, who has been single for a year and a half, previously dated season four’s Jack Fowler.
Speaking about why she wanted to enter Love Island, the singer said: "I’ve been single for almost a year and a half and for the whole of the last year my goal has been to have as many different experiences as possible. I really just want to say ‘yes’ to things.
“Why not? It’ll be fun. I’m a Cypriot girl and I love being in the sun. I’ve got nothing to lose!"
On what would make her a good girlfriend, Antigoni said: “When I’m into somebody, I’m very much all about them.
“My culture is a very open, generous culture and I like to think I carry that trait as a girlfriend. I really put 100% into somebody when I like them. I would also like that back!”
Love Island is on every day at 9pm on ITV2 and ITV hub. Episodes are available the following morning on Britbox.
