Emmerdale fans have endured the emotional experience of saying difficult goodbyes to two soap favourites this week and there might be more tears coming.
This week, as part of Emmerdale’s 50th anniversary storm storyline, viewers have seen the deaths of Harriet Finch, played by Katherine Dow Blyton, and Liv Flaherty, played by Isobel Steele. There’s been promises of shocks and sad moments this week.
As reported by our colleagues at the Liverpool Echo, there might be up to seven more characters killed off. Director Tim O'Mara said: “No one is safe, there's a possibility of eight or nine characters not being around for very long.

“We do go to the hospital on a number of visits, a number of people hurt by debris flying around the village, there are accidents in the woods, trees falling on people. There are massive accidents at the farm which might attract the attention of one or two characters.”
Of course, we will be by your side with the tissues should there be any further devastating goodbyes. Both of the stars we’ve said goodbye to this week have paid farewell to fans.

“I don’t think it will hit me that I’m not going back for a couple of weeks because it feels like I’m on a break but it will slowly hit me,” Katherine Dow Blyton said. “ “I got very emotional reading it (her final script).”
Isobel Steele, who is believed to be pursuing a music career following her Emmerdale exit, added: “It has been a pleasure and it has been the best seven years of my life. It has been all worth it because of you. Thank you so much.”
