Channel 4 has announced that Colin Murray will be replacing Anne Robinson on Countdown.
The former Weakest Link presenter, from Crosby, stepped down from her role in May after just one year at the helm. The position has been vacant since but Colin stepped in temporarily before landing the full time role.
At one point, former Coronation Street star Les Dennis also stepped in to cover Colin's brief absence. The announcement of the permanent replacement was made on Wednesday on Steph's Packed Lunch.

Presenter Steph McGovern teased: "Here's a hint. They were once part of a week day double act alongside a famous Scot." A conundrum was also placed on screen for fans to guess, reading: "MINAORCURLY."
Colin removed his wig as the announcement was made and said: "I'm an accidental radio presenter, then an accidental TV presenter and a print journalist."
Anne, 78, joined the show in 2021 and became the first main female presenter. But after only a year, she presented her final episode of the show on July 13, 2022.
Explaining her reasons, Anne said in a statement she'd had a 'blast' but was ready to spend more time with her family. She said at the time: "I've had a blast hosting this wonderful show. And I stayed longer than I signed up for. Now it is time for an older woman to take the reins.
"In hope too I've encouraged TV bosses to realise that not all women at the wrong end of their seventies are in care homes playing bingo and watching conjuring tricks." Anne added: "But I have grandchildren, a large garden and a home in New York, all deserving more of my attention."
