The EE BAFTA Film Awards take place this year on Sunday, March 13.
Last year had its fair share of rising movie stars - and BAFTA has officially announced its EE Rising Star Award nominees for 2022.
The list includes stars like James Bond’s Lashana Lynch and West Side Story’s Ariana DeBose.

It also teases what we can look forward to at the BAFTA awards ceremony.
The nominee list was announced by 2021 Rising Star winner Bukky Bakray, from the BBC crime drama You Don’t Know Me, and presenter Edith Bowman on Tuesday (February 1).
Other previous winners of the Rising Star Award include Blue Story’s Michael Ward, Black Panther’s Letitia Wright, Tom Hardy and Kristen Stewart.

Lashana Lynch
Before appearing in James Bond’s No Time To Die in 2021 as the first female 007 agent, Lynch had starred in other popular films such as Captain Marvel (2019) and Brotherhood (2016).
Lashana has also acted in the theatrical musical, Matilda.
Born in Hammersmith, London, and of Jamaican descent, the actor has proven that she is able to adapt to a variety of roles and it is therefore no surprise that she is a nominee for the 2022 BAFTA Rising Star Award.
Ariana DeBose
American actor, singer and dancer DeBose starred in Steven Spielberg's musical film West Side Story (2021).
Prior to that project, she also starred in Hamilton (2020) and Seaside (2018) among other films.
DeBose has already received a Golden Globe Award and a Screen Actors Guild Award nomination for her portrayal in West Side Story.
Her first acting debut was in So You Think You Can Dance.
Millicent Simmonds
Simmonds is an American actor who is also up for nomination in this BAFTA Rising Star Award category.
The 18-year-old made her acting debut in Wonderstruck (2017) and her fame rose even more via the 2018 horror film A Quiet Place and its sequel in 2020.
Simmonds is deaf, and has spoken of her desire to smash stereotypes through her roles.
Kodi Smit-McPhee
Australian actor Kodi has a long filmography as he started as a child actor, having appeared in The Road (2009) and Let Me In (2010).
Now, at 25 years old, Smit-McPhee joins four others in this award category list.
His latest acclaimed project, The Power of The Dog (2021), is giving him even more recognition for his talent on an international level.
The actor has also appeared in X-Men: Apocalypse (2016) and Deadpool 2 (2018).
Harris Dickinson
English actor Dickinson was previously nominated for the Independent Spirit Award for Best Male Lead for the drama Beach Rats (2017).
He has also starred in Maleficent: Mistress of Evil (2019), alongside Angelina Jolie, and more recently The King’s Man (2021).
Dickinson is also starring in an upcoming American drama film Where The Crawdads Sing, based on the novel of the same name.
