A Whitley Bay mum celebrated finishing the Great North Run in style - by shaving off her hair for the charity Children's Cancer North.
Lesley Lincoln crossed the finish line in South Shields and made a beeline to the charity village to find Children's Cancer North's events manager Abigail Hewison, who was menacingly holding an electric razor.
In no time at all, mum-of-two Lesley was shorn. She took on the double challenge hoping to raise £1,000 - and she has absolutely smashed her target thanks to her hair-raising escapade. In total, she's raised £1,327 so far.

Lesley said she had been inspired by those less fortunate than herself. She said: "Being in an extremely grateful position to have two healthy children, I want to help other families less fortunate than me.
"I’m completely overwhelmed by the generosity and support I have received so far and although a little nervous at the time, I was spurred on by the hope that this money will make a real difference."
Children's Cancer North is the charity behind the Children's Cancer Run - and was formed last year following a merger of the North of England Children’s Cancer Research charity and Children’s Cancer Fund.
The Children's Cancer Run was first held more than four decades ago when Chris Peacock, then a pupil at King's School, Tynemouth, was suffering from cancer. Now chair of Children's Cancer North, Chris said: "People raise money for Children’s Cancer North in all kinds of fun and inventive ways.
“Lesley’s support for the charity means so much, and on behalf of everyone at Children’s Cancer North I’d like to thank her for being such a great ambassador and helping raise the profile of the important work we do. Lesley, along with lots of other runners, has raised vital funding for Children’s Cancer North, allowing us to continue making life better for children with cancer.”
