White Moose Cafe owner vows to continue controversial social media presence

The owner of the White Moose Cafe brand has vowed to continue the controversial marketing style of the cafe.

Paul Stenson and his family decided to sell the Charleville Lodge on Dublin's northside after running the hotel and cafe for many years. The new owners had no plans to continue the cafe in the venue.

Paul, who ran the White Moose Cafe in the basement of the Phibsborough hotel, decided he would sell the cafe's brand to anyone "mad enough" to carry it on. However, after customers praised Paul's unique marketing style, he has changed his offer.

Now, interested parties can chose to keep Paul on to run the marketing and as an advisor to the new owners. He wrote on Facebook: "I have had a fair few enquiries from people looking to buy White Moose Café from me. Some serious. Some tyre kickers. Some g*******s.

"While my initial plan was to exit the food space entirely, the general consensus is that it would be best if I remained in some capacity as apparently “the White Moose would be nothing without Paul Stenson” (how flattered am I!)

"So, I am willing to retain a minor shareholding and sit on the board in an advisory, non-executive capacity. I am willing to enter discussions in relation to staying involved from a marketing perspective on the one condition that I have full control of, and a final say on, what content we put out.

He added: "Marketing/Social media will be my department entirely. This is non-negotiable if I am to be involved. I don’t want anyone second guessing my judgement in any way when it comes to PR and Advertising.

"I will retain ownership of all White Moose IP, which I own personally in both Ireland and the UK. I have to stress that I won’t be involved operationally.

"I won’t be making any cappuccinos or lifting any plates. I certainly won’t be dealing with any customers. This is for their health, my health and the health of anyone else who happens to be in the vicinity at the time."
